Ely Place
This cul–de–sac was built in 1772 on the site of Ely Palace. The building had been the London home of the Bishops of Ely for almost 500 years, from 1290 to 1772.
One of the oldest Catholic churches in England is at the end of this small road – it is St Etheldreda’s Church which was built in the reign of Edward I during the 13th century.
