Quirky Vintage Wedding Featured in Love My Dress Blog

Congratulations to Amy and Martin whose July wedding was featured in the Love My Dress blog. We are delighted to see the lovely images of Amy's 'Camellia Japonica' wedding ring. The wedding ring is hand engraved with the flowers of the camellia.

The Camellia Japonica flower is an exotic flower often called the Rose of Winter. A native flower to East Asia, the camellia was introduced into Europe in 1739 by the botanist Georg Joesph Kamell. In Japan and China, the flowers are found in the wild and symbolize grace, friendship and harmony.

In the nineteen century, the Victorians had a love affair with the noble and durable flowers. The flowers were especially sought-after and became desirable adornments in ladies hair and dresses at winter balls.

The camellia japonica flowers have an enduring appeal for today’s brides as a symbol of luck, embodying love and elegance.
